Activities for Students


 

The following programmes have been organized for the student�s awareness:-

 1.      Aids awareness.

2.      National literacy day.

3.      National Science day.

4.      National youth day.

5.      World Computer Literacy Day.

6.      Environmental Awareness.

7.      Vonomohatsava by planting trees in institutions and various areas.

  

For all round development of the teacher-students, the following activities have been organized:-

              Cultural activities, games and sports activities, literary activities with various programmes and competitions by inviting artists and resource persons of different fields.    

 

Students Corner:

 

  1. Publication of � a Wall Magazine, named EDUCARE�, thrice in a year.
  2. Publication of college magazine.
  3. Eco-Club under VIPNET Science Club, New Delhi which has observed world computer Literacy Day in association with NIIT, TATA-INFO, NIC, APTECH, Lakhimpur by organizing Quiz competition on �Information Technology�.
  4. Health Care Centre, �LIFELINE� organized �Blood Grouping Programme� of the college committee in association with the Joint Director of Health Services, Lakhimpur.
  5. An instrumental cassette �JHANKAR� was released in collaboration with B. D. world Communication.
  6. Project works on ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES have been done in the site of :-
    1. National Hydro Electrical Power Corporation Ltd. in Gerugamukh, Dhemaji.
    2. HAWAI Camp in Upper Kimin, Arunachal Pradesh.
    3.  Tariali, Baginadi, Lakhimpur
    4. Subansiri, Lakhimpur
    5. Dirgha in Lakhimpur District
    6. Tariani near the border of Arunachal Pradesh
  7. The �CREATIVE ARTS WINGS� is a significant creative work organized by the Fine Arts Department. This wing makes decorative flower pots, various types of painting, drawing, and dolls made by waste products like clothes, wools, waste papers etc., hanging walls, flowers made of dry beetle nut, cloths, papers, wools, plastic etc. Dry flowers are preserved in the Arts Wings. A record book is maintained for the above activities.
  8. Work Experience:- The teacher-students enjoy in the production of some household materials, such as bamboo baskets, bamboo brooms,  decorative pieces out of dry leaves of  coconut, candle stand out  of coconut and bamboo, doormat out of waste polythin bags, cushion cover, cushion, various kinds of decorative mats, chair covers, tablecloths, knitting, envelop, file cover,  voucher file,   bamboo  kharahi, bamboo chalani, bambo fans and bambo jharu and maintaining fresh flower tubs and flower garden along with its record book.
  9. Besides the academic activities, orientation programme, socio-economic survey particularly in rural and backward areas, Environmental Projects, National Days, Teachers� Day, Silpi Divas, Bishnu Rabha Divas, Swaraswati puja, Sri Sri Sankardeva Tithi etc has been observed.
  10. Exhibition of different item of Work Experience and others have been exhibited during orientation programme.
  11. Co-academic activities:-  For academic development of the teacher-students, workshops, discussion, popular talks have been organized. They are:

  2. Teacher-Students have participated in the following literary activities:-
    1. State Level Debating Competition in memory of Yunish Ali Hazarika in 2005-2006 by begging 1st & 3rd Prize.
    2. All Assam wall magazine competition was organized by the Vivekananda Kendra, Lakhimpur Branch-First Prize won by the teacher-students. 
    3. National Seminar: A two day National Seminar has been organized by the Lakhimpur Post graduate Training College on 24th & 25th November 2006 on �Challenges in Management of Educational Institutions in the 21st Century with Special Reference to North East� by inviting national and international reputed resource persons and various distinguished guests. 129 Nos. of Participants participated in the seminar and 29 research papers have been presented.

             An ABSTRACT SOUVENIR been published with Guests articles.

            A 'Preceeding' on National Seminar has been released.
